The weaving process is achieved by floating the warp threads above the other fibers to create the shiny and seemingly seamless smooth surface of the fabric. Extremely smooth to the touch, it can be susceptible to wear and tear, due to its intricate weaving method. Satin originates from China where it was originally produced from silk yarns.
